Master Box

Definition

(Noun) A variant of the gamewell box fire alarm pull stations, this version allowed an exisitng, modern fire alarm system to convey an alarm on the fire telgraph by the incorporation a solenoid and spring loaded throw lever system. When the alarm system activated, the system would trigger the solenoid, releasing the spring arm, which would "pull" the trip lever inside the Gamewell box. The master box could not be reset until the alarm system had been also.
